Call of the Sea

Person on the beach watching the sea

The people along the sand
All turn and look one way.
They turn their back on the land.
They look at the sea all day.

As long as it takes to pass
A ship keeps raising its hull;
The wetter ground like glass
Reflects a standing gull.

The land may vary more;
But wherever the truth may be-
The water comes ashore,
And the people look at the sea.

They cannot look out far.
They cannot look in deep.
But when was that ever a bar
To any watch they keep?

Neither Out Far Nor In Deep by Robert Frost

My favourite poem sums up how i feel about the coast, especially the Yorkshire coast.

Waves roll accross the beacjh at Scarborough

Both of these were taken at Scarborough in December. The top image has been given a cubist filter to give it a more dreamlike quality. I don’t usually use filters like this, but the image needed a little something, and this proved to be just right.
